The challenge
A brand event in New York City booked live jersey customization for the night of June 24, 2026. The client supplied 100 jerseys. Every guest got to put their own last name across the back, during a three-hour window from 7 to 10 p.m. You can't print names like that ahead of time, because you don't know who's walking in.
The activation
Merch Troop brought 1,500 premade DTF letter transfers. The crew built each name from single letters and pressed it onto the back of the guest's jersey on the spot. A two-person team ran it with its own equipment and traveled in for the job. The booking was a five-hour day: setup, the three live hours, and teardown.
The result
It's a lean way to do names at a night event. Two people and a deep stock of letters cover any surname that comes up, and nothing has to be printed before the doors open.
