The challenge
A private Santa Monica celebration required two distinct live customization activations running simultaneously on guest-supplied items. Artwork had to be locked, transfers ordered, and logistics confirmed days in advance so a four-hour production window wouldn't stall. Nothing was printed on blank stock — every item came from the client.
The activation
Merch Troop deployed a four-person crew with two DTF heat press stations and two dedicated laser engraving stations set up on-site. Left-chest artwork was confirmed well ahead of the event, and transfers were picked up two days prior so the crew arrived ready to produce. From 6:00 to 10:00 PM, the DTF stations applied front prints to 150 client-provided T-shirts across up to three pre-approved designs. In parallel, the laser stations worked through 150 client-provided bamboo keychains, engraving each one live.
The result
Two parallel production lines ran the full four-hour window against 150 shirts and 150 bamboo keychains without a gap in throughput. Pre-event artwork confirmation and early transfer pickup eliminated the friction that typically slows live activations on guest-supplied goods.
