The challenge
An event in Boston on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 had one hour of guest time, 4 to 5 p.m., and up to 33 blue caps supplied by the client. The plan: each guest leaves with their initials on a cap and at least one of the client's own patches. The venue had no parking, and the crew traveled in for the job.
The activation
The client provided two custom patch designs. Each guest chose one, could add several generic patches on top, and spelled out their initials in white letter patches. Everything went on with heat: two hat presses at one table, caps lined up and ready. A two-person crew ran the one-day job, and the booking was built on a five-hour minimum covering setup and teardown.
The result
An hour is enough for up to 33 caps when the art already exists. The client's two patches, the letters and the generic stock were all ready before the event, so the live work was choosing, placing and pressing, one cap at a time.
