The challenge

On September 19, 2026, one client ran the same in-store event in three states at the same hour. The stores were in Bellevue in the Seattle area, Beaverton in the Portland area, and Greenwood Village in the Denver area. Each store opened to shoppers at 9 or 10 a.m., and the live window was 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at all three. The client supplied the bandanas.

The activation

Merch Troop staffed all three at once, with two people per store: six staff in total and six presses. Guests picked their initials or a name, and the crew pressed it in DTF onto a small section of the bandana, one print location per piece. Each store was stocked for up to 100 bandanas, 300 across the three. Each store was booked as a five-hour minimum including setup and teardown.

The result

Three stores, one start time. The kit was the same everywhere: two presses, a stock of DTF letters and the client's bandanas. A guest in Beaverton could get the same thing as a guest in Bellevue or Greenwood Village, at the same hour.

Questions

Can you build something like this for another brand?

Yes. The exact method changes by artwork, traffic, venue, and guest profile, but the production model is repeatable.

Can this be adapted for a trade show booth?

Yes. Most case-study formats can be scaled into booth, lounge, or sponsor footprint versions.

Can you combine live and pre-produced merch?

Yes. Hybrid activations are often the best way to balance speed, premium options, and budget.
